Tech Travel accessories we LOVE!
These items absolutely made our whole trip much easier and are totally worth the trouble to carry around.
POWER STRIP
Why bother? we mostly bought UPWADE Outlet Travel Power Strip Surge Protector b/c we didn't want to carry around a lot of travel adapters, but didn't realize at the time how INCREDIBLY USEFUL the USB ports would be. In fact, if you are not traveling around with actual 'pluggable' things, we'd recommend just a USB Port power strip. Also, if you do buy a power strip, make sure it has the extension cord and doesn’t plug into the wall. Especially in more affordable accommodations the wall sockets are not strong enough to hold the power strip and everything else you’ll plug in. And, some other power strips have the ground prong (the 3 leg in the plug), well, some outlets don’t have a ground so even though it’s better to have a ground prong, it’s also harder to find places to plug it; go with just 2 prongs.
RETRACTABLE CABLES
If you are super organized and always pack your cables nice & tight, with things like velcro ties, then these retractable cables might not be space savers. But, for fast compact these are the best! We carry them in our backpacks to connect to our power banks, or like in this case, to the power strip. Keeps things tidy and they are super fast to pack!
PORTABLE POWER BANK
This one has been around for a while but at home we never really needed it b/c we didn't use our phones as much as we do on the road. One full charge, usually overnight, would carry us through the day, sometimes even 2 days! Now, these guys are life savers for more than just Uber after a red eye flight, or maybe just a crazy fun photo/film day.
