Our Everyday Travel Essentials

Our Everyday Travel Essentials

This blog post is a long time coming - we’ve been piecing it together and it’s finally here!

Tech Essentials

Our favorite selfie stick has it’s own post here: Best Selfie Stick evah! and our Tech Travel Accessories we LOVE! is still true even though we wrote that post before finishing our trip. Check those out because they have loads of good info. Also our favorite apps… yep, you guessed it, still staying strong and true here -> Travel Apps we love.

The only bits we’ve added since returning are the following:

  • Hand Sanitizer - oh yes you need this! We have a tiny bottle that we refill as we go, but however you do it, you NEED this in your travel life.

  • Sirui clip-on wide angle lens - since most of our photos are actually taken on our iPhone (this is before the iPhone had a model with a wide angle) we invested in this little puppy. There is a little distortion around the edges, but we crop that off and plan for that crop before taking the picture. If you are not planning to upgrade to a phone with a wide angle feature, then we’d totally recommend this lens.

  • Scarfs/Sarongs - specifically lightweight, easy to wash and hopefully cute-looking, scarfs. For me (Siori) it was to cover up my shoulders or hair for places where that was appropriate. And for Fermin, he also had to cover up in places where shorts were not appropriate. He’d use the scarf as a kind of sarong - in places like Bali and other parts of Southeast Asia, sarongs for men is a common practice so he didn’t look out of place.

  • Patagonia Houdini - Super versatile layer that you can carry around in almost anything. For my small purses, I just clipped it on the outside and for the big ones, it was small enough to fit super easy. It dries quick and weighs next to nothing - we’ve never seen this jacket on sale (although, we are sure you could probably find one) but even if you pay full price, it’s worth Every.Single.Penny. Plus, we also love Patagonia’s Mission - you can find it here - and their recycling & repairing program - you can shop their used and repaired items at WornWear. Basically we love their stuff and what they stand for.

That’s it! Keep scrolling to watch us chattin’ it up and talking about all the things we listed above. Or head straight to the comment section and tell us what travel essentials we are missing.
