Small Purse Hack
One of the things I most disliked about wearing a big hat was not actually wearing the hat, it was all the time you don’t wear the hat but are stuck with it. Like, if you go shopping at the mall, you can’t be wearing your hat indoors, so you have to generally hand carry it or have a huge purse you can roll it in. Well, I finally found a way to clip the hat onto my tiny purse for all of the time that I’m not wearing it! The best bit is that I don’t have to carry a huge purse that’ll fit my hat.
Here’s how to do it:
You need a purse with a detachable strap, ideally with a mechanism like the one I have. I bought this one at H&M for super cheap in South Korea - after almost a year it’s still going strong.
You need a clip, like the one pictured. It can be any color you like, but ideally not too big.
If you want to carry your sunglass bag like I do, just make sure it has a string like the one pictured.
When is this useful? While traveling at sites like churches, where you take off your hat before going in. I just clip it onto my purse and voila I’m hands free. I also like to carry my sunglass pouch because sunglasses don’t stay on my head easily, they always fall off. This way I damage them much less and it’s comfortable. If you are used to putting your sunglasses on your head and having them stay, then this might be overkill.
